The VietNam Competition Commission (VCC), under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, has received a notification from Toyota Motor Vietnam (the Company) regarding the product recall program for defective goods, specifically the high-pressure fuel pump on Lexus NX vehicles.
Based on the information and documentation provided by the Company, the VCC hereby announces the aforementioned recall program as follows:

The recall program aims to inspect/replace the high-pressure fuel pump on Lexus NX vehicles produced from February 8, 2018, to May 16, 2018, officially imported and distributed by Toyota Motor Vietnam.

5. Reason for Recall for Repair/Replacement and Updates
5.1. Issue and Warning
The vehicles affected are equipped with a high-pressure fuel pump to supply fuel to the direct injectors. When the pump piston moves downward, it creates a vacuum in the cylinder to draw fuel through the intake control valve. As the piston moves upward, the fuel is pushed into the engine through a check valve. Over time, the stress on these control valves may increase, causing cracks in the valve welds, leading to fuel and fuel vapor leaks. In the presence of an ignition source, these leaks significantly increase the risk of fire or explosion.
5.2. Instructions for Ensuring Consumer Safety and Rights During the Recall
To ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, consumers are advised to promptly take their vehicles to the nearest Lexus dealership for a free inspection/replacement of the fuel pump.
For non-genuine imported vehicles subject to recall as announced by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Japan, the Company will assist in contacting TMC to obtain relevant information upon the owner's request. Once confirmation and approval are received from TMC, Lexus dealers will carry out free inspections/replacements for consumers.
